Don't you know that I love you?
Have always?
Will always?
Love burns in me a wildfire
devouring sense and reason.
but to you its more like a bond-fire,
simply warming you in season.
Don't you see how much I love you?
Listen to your every word?
making sure your world is filled
with bright flowers and with birds?
Can't you?
Won't you?
Don't you know how much you hurt me?
with your thoughtless words and deeds?
making joke of all your wisdom,
all your knowledge,
all your creeds?
Don't you see the way I've shown you?
with my death upon the cross,
giving hope to all,
the dying,
the blind,
the lost?
Oh beloved! won't you hear me?!
Calling you all near me,
to love me, now not fear me.
Will you?
